My name is Genevieve Helms. I urge you not to allow the aforementioned request
for several reasons.
The first reason to oppose the building of the lake and dam is the for the well-
being of my animals living on the effected property. The horses will be without
water for the time allowed for the dam construction as well as have a questionable
source of water once the flow returns post construction. Horses do not drink
muddy water. Second, the effected property has been a precious commodity in the
Wright family for over 200 years and is one of the few historic farms left in the
county. It is wrong to interrupt such beauty and nature preserved though the years
to risk pollution and the quality of life of our innocent and beloved animals to

promote a subdivision that which is already established and enhanced enough by
it's beautiful views. The need for a lake at the expense of these people and
animals is unnecessary. Finally, the potential risk for damage is great to land and
livestock as well as sections of US Highway 64/74 or even the ecosystem of the
Broad River in the event of a flood or dam break.
