Typical Cross Section Description: Bridge : Two 10' lanes, 3'-11" paved shoulders Approach: Two 10' lanes, variable paved shoulders Bridge: Two 9' lanes, 3' shoulders Approach: Two 9' lanes, 5' unpaved shoulders Annual Avg Daily Traffic (veh/hr/day): Design/Future: 340 Year: 2025 Existing: 170 Year: 2012 General Project Narrative: (Description of Minimization of Water Quality Impacts) The existing 91' triple -span bridge over Lanes Creek on SR 2111 (Belk Mill Rd) is being replaced with a 100' (39" box beam) single span bridge. The bridge will have 1.5:1 sloping abutments with 4' end bent caps. The bridge will be normal crown at 2% with 10' travel lanes and 3'-11" shoulders, 27"-10" clear width and 30'-0" OTO width. The existing bridge structure will be removed. Overall drainage patterns will be maintained. There are roadside ditches that flow towards the bridge on both sides of the structure. The proposed design will interfere with existing ditches flow patterns. Proposed ditches will be used to maintain flow to the bridge. On the begin side of the bridge, two traffic bearing grated drop inlet with double frame and grates (2GI) was placed on the right side of the roadway in the shoulder berm gutter to pick up runoff from the bridge. Class-ll rip rap abutment protection around both abutments is being proposed for abutment protection. Deck drains are not needed. No dissipator pads were used because the Class-ll rip rap will prevent erosion and dissipate flow.
