Typical Cross Section Description: Bridge : Two 10' lanes, 3'-10" paved shoulders Approach: Two 10' lanes, variable paved shoulders Bridge: Two 9' lanes, 3' shoulders Approach: Two 9' lanes, 6' and 4' left and right shoulders Annual Avg Daily Traffic (veh/hr/day): Design/Future: 980 Year: 2025 Existing: 490 Year: 2012 General Project Narrative: (Description of Minimization of Water Quality Impacts) The existing 143' six span bridge over Dutch Buffalo Creek on SR 1132 (Miami Church Rd.) is being replaced with a 160' triple -span bridge with a span arrangement of 1 @50' (21" cored slab), 1@70' (24" cored slab) and 1@40' (21" cored slab). The bridge will have 1.5:1 sloping abutments with 4' end bent caps. The bridge will be normal crown at 2% with 10' travel lanes and 3'-10" shoulders, 27"-8" clear width and 30'-0" OTO width. The existing bridge structure will be removed. Overall drainage patterns will be maintained. There are roadside ditches that flow on both begin and end of the bridge on left side. The proposed design will interfere with both of the existing ditches flow patterns. Proposed ditches will be used to maintain flow to the bridge. On the begin and end side of the bridge, two (four in total) traffic bearing grated drop inlet with double frame and grates (2GI) was placed on the right side of the roadway in the shoulder berm gutter to pick up runoff from the bridge. Class -II rip rap abutment protection on both banks of the stream is also proposed to prevent future erosion and stream migration. Deck drains are not needed. No dissipator pads were used because the Class -II rip rap will prevent erosion and dissipate flow.
