John,
I have a message into David W. It looks OK to me - I don't understand the CP3 Revised attachment - but hopefully - it
makes sense w/ maps.
I have forwarded the information to Monte and Eric A. since I believe one of them or both will be attending the Merger
in my stead. I think releasing this prior to Merger in June - to team.. would be good. But it's already w/in the 2 weeks of
the meeting... not sure what to do there...
Sincerely,
Nicholle Braspennickx

Dave/Nicholle - In response to your request, here's what we'd like to send to the rest of the Merger Team:
"As design has progressed for Section A of R-2577 in Forsyth County, NCDOT has found that the original Preferred
Alternative (termed "Transitional Widening" at prior meetings) has continued to be refined. In keeping with the spirit of
previous concurrence points, our designers have continued to review the constraints and try to balance residential and
business relocations with the known historic resources and stream impacts along the A section of the corridor. Based on
current survey data and our known constraints, the most effective and least impactful design is to widen primarily to the
north side of the existing alignment.
1
"We recently presented the latest design to the Corps and NCDWR along with our anticipated impact numbers (using
slope-stakes plus 25 feet as our estimated footprint) using a best-fit widening that falls primarily to the northern side of
the existing alignment, which reduces the overall residential, business, and stream impacts in Section A (see attached
summary table). We are also meeting our prior commitments with no changes that affect our prior historic architecture
findings. At the request of the Corps and NCDWR, we respectfully request your review and signature on a revised
version of the Concurrence Points 3 and 4A forms in order to maintain clear and consistent project records. We have
updated each form with revised language and new impact information, where applicable. We will provide an
opportunity for a brief discussion at the beginning of the R-2577A 4B Meeting to be held on June 12."
Please let me know if you have any comments on this, and whether you feel it would be overkill to provide the planset
that you've previously reviewed. Thank you!

John,
Per my voicemail from earlier today, based on the new information we received during the recent meeting, I think we
should honor the Merger process and go ahead a have the team resign CP3 and 4A. Attached are the previous formal
signature pages of which lists the types of widening evaluated and impacts minimized. Per the meeting, these have
changed and therefore in my opinion, the revisions need to be presented to the whole team for concurrence.
Please let me know if you need anything further. Thanks.
