Cyndi,
Just wanted to touch base with you and give you my contact information for our meeting on Wednesday.
My mobile is 795-4808. There is a "shop" or something at the intersection of the road we need to take. So
I say just meet there at around 11 or so. This will be at the intersection of Emma Cannon Road and Hwy
102. 1 have to stop by Goldsboro on the way down there, but it should not be a problem as I will be leaving
quite early from Raleigh. I will be on a blue Chevrolet pickup truck. If you will please send me your mobile
number so I can contact you if needed. I look forward to meeting with you.

Here are some pics of the site you will visit next week. The first pic is of the
feature you are making the call on and I had rehung a flag at the pt that the
original call was made. I am sure it has been removed. do you want the GPS coord's?
Call me when you are done so I can come meet you because I think the bigger issue is
what has been done on the large feature to the east.

Cyndi,
Per our conversation, Steven Ball is the technician from our office that will meet
you on the morning of 11/23 - 11:00. He advised that you can meet him at the store
in Venters, on the southwest corner of the intersection of NC 102 and SR 1125
(35.46930N, 77.3484°W). You can check the location of the rendezvous point on
topozone.com. The site is less than ten minutes from that point.
The site is an open field that has recently come under construction. Therefore, the
site is easily accessible and easy to maneuver around, so your son shouldn't have any
trouble.
Thanks for squeezing this into your schedule.

Jason - as you might imagine, my schedule in November is hell, and
Dorney's is even worse. This one would require at least a 5-hour
commitment commuting from Raleigh. I was planning to take Nov 23
(that's the day before thanksgiving) off because I'll have to watch my
kid who will be out of school. I would be willing to entertain the
thought of doing your appeal on Nov 23, with the caveat that I might
have my 4-year-old along. Is the stream in question difficult to
access? If it's not a bad hike we should be ok with Roman along. If
this won't work out, we'll have to look into December.

I stopped by the site last Wednesday and took a look at the site. When you are
there look at the opposite bank in the area of the flagged origin and there is
a natural ground water seep with active iron oxidation. This feature has been
altered sense I made the call back during the driest part of the summer and
some of the characteristics have been removed. Jason Payne and I labored over a
field sheet in this area and agreed that all the characteristics were present
to meet a 19. It does not show on the soils map only the USGS Quad. If you want
any other info or for me to meet you in the area after you make the assessment
just let me know. I feel the bigger issue here is the main drainage that this
feature intersects and what are the site plans in that area. They have already
mowed the buffer and side mowed the ditch bank. If we hold tight to the regs
that is a violation and would call for restoration. I will discuss that with
you after your visit.

I am sorry I will not be able to go on the 23rd now. I have a scoping meeting that I
thought was canceled is now still on,( as of 5 min. ago). That meeting is at 10:00.
If there is another time we can meet I will be glad to be involved. I think the call
(now that all the veg has been removed) will be fairly easy. Like I stated before
there is a small seep or spring that is providing, although small, base flow to that
feature. On the flip side if the original call does not stand it is less than 200ft
to a main feature that there is no question that it is subject and they will still
have to put stormwater measures in place to protect the main feature. If you have any
questions call me and I will be able to meet you after the visit is over.
