The stockpiled soil is estimated to be 10,000 cubic yards and includes material from the former 1982 Ash Basin dam and excavated soils from a cleared area outside of the Ash Basin waste boundary. Duke Energy proposes to reuse this soil for on -site and off -site projects. Upon completion of soil sampling and approval of analytical results from NCDEQ, approximately 6,000 cy of soil is proposed to be utilized in the Asheville Fleet Operations Slope Repair Project at the Duke Energy Fleet Services Building located at 5 East Oakview Road, Asheville, NC. The Erosion and Sedimentation Control Plan for the project was reviewed and approved on May 20, 2019 (Project ID: BUNCO 2019-009). Construction activities are anticipated to begin July 8, 2019. The remaining soil quantities are proposed to be re -used on -site to support construction of the new lined retention basin. This submittal is being transmitted electronically.
