I am writing in response to the Notice of Violation issued to the Town of Maiden on April 17 2019
In accordance to the Significant Non Compliance (SNC) issued for GKN Driveline (IUP #001) for the
Parameter of Copper during the first half of 2018. Being totally new to pre-treatment I was totally
Unaware, that I was suppose to determine (SNC) on (IUP #001) this is totally my fault, and assumed
That sending a (NOV) and keeping a copy on file, was all that was needed (Lesson Learned).
As far as actions, we no longer have a active pre-treatment program with the (IUP#001) their
Permit has been dropped due to a new process, that they have elected to go with (EVAPORATION)
And our program has been put to inactive status, as we do not have any more (IUP) users on our
NPDES permit at this time. I am also making it my personal goal to attend to some future
Pre -Treatment classes, seminars to learn and gain more knowledge about how the pretreatment
Process works. I sincerely want to apologize for all the inconvenience and problems during this
process.
