Marvin T # 3 Swine Facility
Registration No. 82-710

Dear Mr. Wells-.
On December 14, 1999, staff from the Fayetteville Regional Office of the
Division of Water Quality inspected the Marvin T swine facilities. It was
observed that waste samples had not been collected within the required
timeframes and the waste application records indicated and overapplication
of nutrients had occurred on two (2) of the irrigation fields. In addition, the
bermuda crop was poor in a portion of the waste application field.
In regard to the deficiencies noted during the inspection, the following
actions are requested. -
1. Collect waste samples within 60 days of waste application or every
120 days (quarterly) from all waste storage structures (lagoons) to

insure compliance and prevent overapplication of nitrogen.
2. Consult with a technical specialist in regard to the evaluation of the
{
crop ( coastal bennuda) to determine if and adequate stand exist or if
resprigging is required.
