On February 16, 2018, the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) received
the subject proposal to modify the Interim Monitoring Plan (IMP) for the W. H. Weatherspoon
Power Plant. DEQ has reviewed the request and hereby approves the removal of wells BW-02D
and BW-021 only. DEQ requests keeping PW-1 (DEP 2) in the IMP due to the limited data from
this aquifer. These changes will be reflected in the updated IMP that will be sent to Duke Energy
for the 2nd quarter of 2018.
Any modifications to the revised IMP will need to be approved by DEQ. If you have any questions,
