Subject: Response to Duke Energy April 25, 2019 Letter Regarding Optimized Interim
Monitoring Plans
Dear Mr. Draovitch:
On April 25, 2019, the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality's Division of Water
Resources (DWR) received Duke Energy's response to DWR's April 4, 2019 letter requesting
justification for changes to the Optimized Interim Monitoring Plans (IMPs). DWR has reviewed
and accepts Duke Energy's justifications for changes to the IMPs for the Asheville Steam Electric
Plant, Belews Creek Steam Station, and Roxboro Steam Electric Plant. DWR also accepts Duke
Energy's proposed plans for potentially incorporating the wells at the Belews Creek Steam Station
and Roxboro Steam Electric Plant into their respective IMPs.
If you have any questions, please contact the respective DWR Regional Office or Steve Lanter
(Central Office) at (919) 707-3667.
Sincerely,
v
