We met last Wednesday with Dave Wanucha on R2915 and visited several sites on the C section. I've Cc Dave in case I misinterpreted his comments, but it appeared that the majority of issues he noted during his April visit had been corrected. I'm not aware of any new impacts that would require authorization, but we did discuss some possible stream improvement ideas on a couple locations, as well as a couple of areas that would benefit from additional seeding and stabilization efforts. He also called our attention to some generator gas tanks lacking secondary containment that were being used to run some pumps at permit site 16. The contractor on site was notified and purchased spill catchment containers for each tank and placed them in it. At the same location, we observed a stilling bag/basin that had ripped and called it to the attention of the contractor, who immediately fixed the issue. They were working on a separate portion of the permit site and did not notice that a rip had occurred (the bag was allowing water to exit via the pump line inlet). Dave also called our attention to a site on the R2915-B section, where a preformed scour hole was supposed to be installed. We contacted the Division Engineer that oversees that project and asked him to install as noted on the plans. Let me know if you would like more information about these items, or other parts of our meeting. Unfortunately I will be out of town on May 8th and unable to join. Please copy me on a summary of the visit, especially if there is any additional impacts that may need authorization. R-2915E went out on public notice yesterday and I will be working on the modification after all issues are resolved. I included the UKB and Cherokee Nation on the distribution list and to my knowledge that is the first time they have been consulted.
