The 8” aerial is approximately 40 LF. The pier was found lying on its side in the stream, with the pipe still attached to the pier. Sanitary Sewer Aerial Repair 4829 Rembert Dr., Raleigh February 4, 2019 Page 2 Development of a large sandbar and rubble upstream of the aerial resulted in diversion of the stream toward the east streambank, erosion of the east streambank, and destabilization of the aerial. Approximately 110 linear feet of streambed will be impacted during the proposed repair. The proposed repair includes a phased re-direction of the centerline of the stream to the west side of the pier, fill and bank stabilization at the exposed portion of the aerial, and repair of pipe anchors at the pier. A more detailed description of the phased re-direction of the stream is depicted in the attached exhibit. The work will be planned to occur during low flow conditions. Erosion control measures including a construction entrance and silt fence parallel to the top-of-bank will be established prior to start of work. Bank stabilization will include placement of geotextile and rip-rap at the aerial crossing. All disturbed areas will be seeded and mulched upon completion of the work.
