General Project Narrative:
(Description of Minimization of Water
Quality Impacts)
State project B-4819 involves the replacement of the existing NCDOT Bridge #105 on SR 1697 over Snow Creek. Bridge #105 consists of 1 @35', 1 @45.3', 1 @34.8' timber
deck on I -Beams with timber caps and piles. The proposed bridge consists of 1@125' 63"MBT with 4'-0" caps. The effective FEMA floodplain mapping indicates that the
proposed crossing is located in Zone AE and was studied by Limited Detail Study methods. No deck drains are required for the bridge. The Erosion Control Plans are designed
to sensitive watershed standards due to potential impact to the James Spinymussel.
