Typical Cross Section Description: Roadway: Two 10' lanes, grass shoulders Bridge: Two 10' lanes, no shoulders Approach: Two 7.5' lanes, grass shoulders Annual Avg Daily Traffic (veh/hr/day): Design/Future: 240 Year: 2025 Existing: 120 Year: 2012 General Project Narrative: (Description of Minimization of Water Quality Impacts) The existing single span 16'-4" bridge over Cabbage Branch on SR 1637 (Jack's Branch Rd) is being replaced with 2 - 12' x 5' reinforced concrete box culverts, with one culvert being buried V (sill) and the other 2' (sill) for low flow and high flow, respectively. The culvert bottom will be filled with native streambed material. The proposed roadway will be normal crowned at 2.0% with 10' travel lanes and 12' grass shoulders. The existing bridge structure will be removed. Overall drainage patterns will be maintained. There are roadside ditches that flow towards the culvert on either side of the structure; however with the exception of the end culvert right side ditch, the proposed design will not encroach on the existing ditches. The undisturbed existing ditches will be maintained. A proposed ditch was designed to channel flow around the culvert and down to the stream on the end culvert right side. Pump around operation will be used to dewater work area.
