Stadium Drive Eden, NC 27288 Subject: Variance Request Approval Kuder Street Basin Replacement & Rehabilitation (SRP-W-17-0026) City of Eden —WQCS00018 Rockingham County Dear Mr. Hooks: The Division of Water Resources (Division) has reviewed the submitted variance request received on February 12, 2019 for the subject project. The Division will grant the variance request for the installation of gravity sewer below the minimum required slope and without the minimum cover in accordance with the provisions for alternative design under 15A NCAC 02T.0105(n): 1. Pursuant to the variance request received February 12, 2019 from WK Dickson & Co., Inc. on behalf of the City of Eden, a variance is granted for the rehabilitation and operation of approximately 217 linear feet of 8-inch gravity sewer between Manholes MH KSW 0641 and MH KSW 0611, at a slope of 0.31%, as indicated on the provided plans, specifications, and supporting documents, and subject to the following requirements: a. The sections of gravity sewer as described above shall be designated as "high- priority sewer" in accordance with 15A NCAC 02T.0402. b. High-priority sewers shall be inspected by the permittee or its representative at least once every six-months in accordance with the permittee's individual system-wide collection system permit (WQCS00018). 2. A variance is granted for the rehabilitation and operation of approximately 100 linear feet of 8-inch CIPP gravity sewer with less than 36-inches of cover from earth grade, located between manholes MH KSW 0641 and MH KSW 0611. 3. A variance is granted for the rehabilitation and operation of approximately 150 linear feet of 8-inch CIPP gravity sewer and one manhole (MH KSW 0641) with watertight frame, cover, and lining; located within existing wetland areas as shown on the provided plans. All other elements of this project shall be constructed in accordance with all applicable rules and statues including, 15A NCAC 2T; the Division of Water Resources' (Division) Gravity Sewer Minimum Design Criteria adopted February 12, 1996 as applicable; and the Division's Minimum Design Criteria for.the Fast-Track Permitting of Pump Stations and Force Mains adopted June 1, 2000 as applicable. Approval of the variance request does not constitute approval of the permit.
