Describe the existing conditions on the site and the general land use in the vicinity of the project at the time of this application:* The project site is located in a developed area of Wilmington comprised mainly of subdivisions, businesses, and an elementary school along Masonboro Rd. There are a fewwooded areas on the east side of the road. The site is generally flat with a few streams and wetlands adjacent to the roadway. 4b. It will connect to exsting sidewalks located near the Masonboro Loop Rd./Navaho Trl. and Masonboro Loop Rd./Linnea Rd. intersections. The project will permanently impact 0.08 acres of wetlands. There will be 34 linear feet of permanent and 12 linear feet of temporary stream impacts. Standard construction equipment will be used, bulldozer, dump trucks, back hoe, etc. 4j. Marginal habitat for the red-cockaded woodpecker (RCW), golden sedge, rough-leaved loosestrife, and Cooley's meadowrue ewsts within the study area. NHP data, dated July 2018, reveal no known occurrences of threatened or endangered species within a 1.0 mile distance from the project site. No evidence of nesting or cavity trees for RCW was found during the January 2017 site visit. A plant-by-plant survey was conducted, in mid June 2017, within suitable habitat for golden sedge, rough-leaved loosestrife, and Cooley's meadowrue.
