Explain the purpose of the proposed project: Install 10'x12' deck and stairs in the 30' buffer zone for access and viewing of the lake. 3f. Describe the overall project in detail, including the type of equipment to be used: Project includes the installation of a 10'x12' wooden deck on the shore overlooking the lake. Wooden stairs (approximately 16 steps, 4' wide) will be built from the deck down to an existing dock (permitted by Duke Energy). In addition, a series of 4' wide steps and boardwalks will be constructed from the deck up towards the existing house. Deck and steps down to the lake will be constructed within in the 30' buffer zone. Steps up to house will start in the buffer zone and will extend up an additional 100' up the hill. Materials of construction will be pressure treated lumber. Deck will be supported by 6x6 posts. Deck will be approximately 3' off the ground and will have pressure treated decking. Stairs and boardwalks will be supported by 4x4 posts and will have pressure treated stringers, treads and decking. Project will require the removal of approximately 6 trees within the buffer zone.
