Dear Mr. Harris:
This correspondence is in reference to your letter dated April 9, 2019, for the Shelter Swamp Creek Mitigation Site,
located at Bridge 26 over Shelter Swamp Creek on NC 50 in Onslow County, North Carolina. This site is being
utilized by the North Carolina Department of Transportation as compensatory mitigation for wetland impacts
associated with project 17BP.3.R.1. A site visit with the USACE and DWR was conducted on February 21, 2019.
By copy of this letter, we are notifying you that this site can be closed out with the following results as described in
your letter, and based on the 2018 annual monitoring report:
Wetland Restoration: 0.80 acres
The DWR concurs that the success criteria requirements for the project have been satisfied and that monitoring of
the site can cease.
