The Town of Bryson City is taking the following actions in the response to the Notice of
Violation letter dated Much 7, 2018.
A pre -construction meeting was held on Much 15, 2018 with McGill Associates to begin
construction on a new Wastewater Treatment Plant Influent Pump Station Replacement. The
work has a date of notice to proceed of April 1, 2018 and has a contract final completion date of
October 28, 2018.
The town has also ordered a new Vac truck and camera system. We currently have the camera
but are waiting for the Vac truck to arrive. This will help us locate and correct problems, as well
as, clean more lines ourselves. Currently, we we contracting this one time per year.
Lastly, we are looking at an ordinance for campgrounds next to the river to add a footloose sewer
cap. This will help with infiltration. Currently, we have two campgrounds next to the river.
When it floods, camper are pulled out and sewer caps are not placed back on the sewer stub so we
have lots of infiltration.
