SUMMARY OF HISTORIC ARCHITECTURE AND LANDSCAPES REVIEW DESCRIPTIONOFREVIEWACTIVITIES. RESULTS, AND CONCLUSIONS: HPOWeb reviewed on 8]une 2017 and 14 September 2018 and yielded no NR, SL, DE, LD, or SS properties in the Area of Potential Effects (APE). Beaufort County current GIS mapping, aerial photography, and tax information indicated an APE of woodland and cultivated fields with resources dating from the 1920s to the 2000s (viewed 8 June 2017 and 14 September 2018). Houses from the 1920s, 1930s, and 1960s, as well as associated agricultural buildings of similar date, are unexceptional and mostly altered examples of their types. Located approximately 380 feet north of the existing bridge on the eastern side of SR 1611 (Jones Bridge Road) is a family cemetery containing gravestones from the 1920s-2010s and still in active use (GPIN: 6665-27- 1942). Identified as the Paul Cemetery in the Find-a-Grave database (www.findagrave.com), it is not National Register-eligible, but should be afforded the appropriate protections during construction. Constructed in 1974, Bridge No. 159 is not eligible for the National Register as it is not representative of any distinctive engineering or aesthetic type. Google Maps Street View," as well as on-site investigation on 13 June 2017, confirmed the absence of critical architectural and landscape resources in the APE (viewed 8 June 2017 and 14 September 2018). Study area expanded in 2018, extended an additional 500 feet from either end of the existing bridge. No architectural survey is required for the project as currently defined. WHY TNE AVAILABLE INFORMATION PROVIDES A RELIABLB BASIS FOR REASONABLY PREDICTINC THAT THEREARE NO UNIDENTIFIED SIGNIFICANT HISTORICARCHITECT(IRAL OR LANDSCAPE RESOURCES IN THEPROJECTAREA: APE extends 1500 feet from either end of the existing bridge (N-S) and 100 feet to either side of the SR 1611 (Jones Bridge Road) centerline (W-E) to encompass proposed construction activities. The comprehensive county architectural survey (2009-2012) recorded no properties in the APE. County GIS and other visuals illustrate the absence of significant architectural and landscape resources in the APE. The presence and relative placement of above-ground resources confirmed in field on 13 June 2017. No National Register-listed properties are located within the APE or along the proposed off-site detour route.
