Dear Mr. Tinklenberg:
Thank you for your letter of January 14, 2016, concerning the above-referenced undertaking. We have
reviewed the materials submitted and offer the following comments.
There are no known archaeological sites within the proposed project area. Based on our knowledge of the
area, it is unlikely that any archaeological resources that may be eligible for inclusion in the National
Register of Historic Places will be affected by the project. We, therefore, recommend that no
archaeological investigation be conducted in connection with this project.
It appears work will occur within the boundaries of the National Register-eligible Selwyn Village Historic
District (MK2113). The removal of trees along the east bank of Little Sugar Creek may adversely affect the
property's view shed. The project will not adversely affect the historic property if the removal of mature
trees is limited to the greatest extent possible.
The above comments are made pursuant to Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act and the
Advisory Council on Historic Preservation's Regulations for Compliance with Section 106 codified at 36
CFR Part 800.
