HomeMy WebLinkAbout20190211 Ver 1_Allen Road hold letter_20190405Carpenter, Kristi From: Ward, Garcy Sent: Friday, April 05, 2019 5:24 PM To: Johnson, Jay B Cc: Cabaniss, Jeffrey D Subject: Allen Road Jay, As I had discussed earlier with you and Jeff, there was a proposal to add driveway pipes to access the Redd property off Allen Road not far from the intersection with Stantonsburg Road. The proposed pipes would cross the swale that runs from L-Sta 128+20 to -L- Sta 134+00. These swales are designed to treat stormwater and are part of the SMP. After review of the application, it was determined that there is enough swale length in this section to allow the driveway pipes and still meet the minimum required length. It would be desirable, however, to move the proposed 30' drive slightly to the north and avoid the swale altogether. This would leave only the proposed 16' driveway impacting the swale. If DOT wishes to pursue the adding the driveway pipes, they would need to be shown on the plan sheets. Any impact to the swale as a result would need to be reflected in the SMP as a reduction in the amount of swale treatment length provided. To finish processing the application, I would just need a revised plan sheet showing the proposed drives and a revised SMP. In the meantime I will place the application on hold. Once I receive the requested information, I will finish processing the application as quickly as possible. Thanks and let me know if you have any questions.
