The Corps is seeking your comments on the attached proposal from the NCDOT Ferry Division. DOT is
requesting authorization to extend an existing dredged channel an additiona1590 feet on new location using a pump
dredge. The additional dredging will take place in waters currently 7-12' deep with target depths at 12-14'. No SAV
is in evidence in the project area due to the depth, littoral transport and orientation on a windward shoreline. No
coastal or 404 wetlands exist on the proposed upland disposal site.
