The Structures Management Unit of the North Carolina Department of Transportation
(NCDOT) has started the project development, environmental, and engineering studies
for the for replacing bridge no. 109 and 121 on SR 4240 (E. Gate City Boulevard) over
South Buffalo Creek in Guilford County. The project is identified in the NCDOT State
Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) as project number B-5717. The project is
anticipated to be state funded.
We would appreciate any information you might have that would be helpful in
evaluating potential environmental impacts of the project. Your comments will be used
in the preparation of a state -funded Minimum Criteria Determination Checklist (MCDC).
If applicable, please identify any permits or approvals that may be required by your
agency. Please respond by April 5, 2019, so that your comments can be used in the
design of the project and incorporated into the MCDC documentation. Copies of the
project data sheet and study maps are attached.
