Steve and I worked out that I'll be the USACE project manager for this project.
Unfortunately, I'm not available either day you noted, and I won't be available until April 12th. April 15 and 16 are open,
too. Anytime between 9:00 and 5:30 on the 12, 15, or 16 works.
Also, a teleconference vs. a meeting is fine with me.
Please send the screening information at least one week prior to the meeting/teleconference - otherwise, there may not
be sufficient time for us to review the information and let you know if we do need additional information ahead of the
meeting.

Good afternoon,
I am the Project Manager for STIP Project No. R-3430 which consists of widening SR 1001 (Malcolm Blvd./Connelly
Spring Road) to multi -lanes from US 70 in Burke County to SR 1933 (Southwest Blvd.) in Lenoir, Caldwell County. An
Environmental Assessment was completed and approved for R-3430 in March 2009. The project at that time was not in
merger. The limits of that study were from SR 1115 (Dry Ponds Road) to SR 1933 (Southwest Boulevard). Public Hearing
maps were created but there is no record of a Public Hearing being held. The project limits have since been extended to
US 70. An internal scoping meeting was held in fall 2018 and we have since coordinated with the local officials for
input.
I would like to hold a merger screening for this project within the next few weeks, if you are available. If you are in
agreement, I would like to hold a conference call in lieu of meeting on the scheduled Western meeting day in April (April
10). We will provide information to you a few days in advance of the meeting for your review.

Do you have availability on April 3 or April 8, 2019. If not, may you please provide times that are convenient and work
for your schedule.
If you need additional project information prior to your decision to meet for screening, please advise.
