Sewer Project Narrative
For
Aviation Subdivision
Aviation Subdivision is a subdivision in Nashville, NC that will consist of 11 residential
lots. The sewer extension design will serve lots 6-11. Lots 1-5 will tie in to the existing
8" gravity sewer main. Aviation subdivision, is located off Aviation Avenue, just south of
US 64 in Nashville. It will consist of 100% domestic flow. The sewer system will be
constructed of approximately 283 LF of 8-inch SDR-35 PVC sewer pipe. Each
residential lot served by this sewer service will require 360gal/day. The extension will
serve 6 Iots which makes the total projected flow for this extension 2,160 GPD. The
wastewater treatment plant facility that will be handling this flow is the Tar River WWTF
(Permit # NC 0030317). The permitted flow for the WWTF is 21.0 MGD (NPDES).

We have had to revise the Sewer Permit for Aviation to show the lots that are connecting to the existing sewer. See the
email chain below for more information. Therefore the total flow now is 3,960 GPD or 1,800 GPD more than the original
permit. DEQ is good with correcting with the revised application without new signatures, so long as you both will send
an email acknowledging the additional 1,800 GPD in flow. Would both of you mind replying back to this email with an

Erin,
The Subdivision does consist of 11 lots total. However, Lots 1-5 are actually service taps off of an existing sewer line. I
have no idea if any future development flow had been accounted for in a previous permit as this line has been installed
for some time. Therefore, I would think that it needs to be added into this permit to account for the flow. All houses
are proposed to be 3 bedroom or less. Therefore the total flow requested would be 360 GPD for 11 Lots = 3,960 GPD.
Section V1.6 was inadvertently checked Yes and it should have been checked "No".
We have revised the Word file for the permit and attached it. Can we simply replace the revised pages with the current
permit you have? Let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
