I met with the ORC,Vincent Edwards, for the inspection. This facility appears to be operating well, but there are a couple minor repairs needed. The audio and visual alarms need to be repaired at both the influent and effluent pump stations. There is some grating that is rusted and collapsed at the old plant which needs to be replaced. Are float controls operable? Is SCADA telemetry available and operational? Is audible and visual alarm available and operational? The audio and visual alarms do function, but not when the float is tripped. The alarm float is functional though because the autodialer still calls the ORC when it is tripped. Is the DO level acceptable?(1.0 to 3.0 mg/l) The aeration basins for the old plant have low foam. The new plant aeration basins have about 50% foam cover. Mr. Edwards says this is a seasonal issue and the foam typically disappears in a couple weeks as the weather warms. Old plant settleability- 320, new plant settleability- 250. The following measurements were taken by Mr. Edwards on 3-19-19: Old plant: DO- 2.85, pH- 7.09. New plant- DO- 2.41, pH- 7.86. Also some of the grating at the old plant over the aeration basins is rusted and collapsed, and needs to be replaced.
