Orange County is currently in Tier II monitoring for the facility due to high TSS. There were several measurable storm/rain events during the month of February 2019. A sample was collected from each of the two outfalls at the start of the rain event on February 20, 2019 approximately 30 minutes after it had begun. Results indicate that the C&D outfall exceeds the threshold for fecal coliform. The MSW outfall does not exceed any of the limits outlined in the County's NPDES permit. The results of the analysis are entered on the enclosed Storm water DMR reporting form as well as copies of both analyses. The landfill is surrounded by heavily wooded areas and wildlife is frequently spotted on the landfill property which is the only way to explain fecal coliform presence in the discharge from C&D outfall. The C&D landfill only accepts construction and demolition debris; therefore, which should not be a source that would lead to the presence of fecal coliform. Orange County continues to monitor the installed BMP's that help to control the amount of onsite erosion and subsequent discharge of contaminated water. This includes monitoring of the growth of our vegetative cover and minimizing the amount of disturbed land. If you have any questions, please contact me a bwoodygorna eg_coun nc.gov or 919-358-0479. Page 6 of 8 www.encolabs.com FLAGS/NOTES AND DEFINITIONS B The analyte was detected in the associated method blank. D The sample was analyzed at dilution. I The reported value is between the laboratory method detection limit (MDL) and the laboratory method reporting limit (MRL), adjusted for actual sample preparation data and moisture content, where applicable. U The analyte was analyzed for but not detected to the level shown, adjusted for actual sample preparation data and moisture content, where applicable. E The concentration indicated for this analyte is an estimated value above the calibration range of the instrument. This value is considered an estimate. MRL Method Reporting Limit. The MRL is roughly equivalent to the practical quantitation limit (PQL) and is based on the low point of the calibration curve, when applicable, sample preparation factor, dilution factor, and, in the case of soil samples, moisture content. PQL PQL: Practical Quantitation Limit. The PQL presented is the laboratory MRL. N The analysis indicates the presence of an analyte for which there is presumptive evidence (85% or greater confidence) to make a "tentative identification". Greater than 25% concentration difference was observed between the primary and secondary GC column. The lower concentration is reported. [CALC] Calculated analyte - MDL/MRL reported to the highest reporting limit of the component analyses. Q-01 Analysis performed outside of method - specified holding time.
