Stout Landing Subdivision Storm Water Narrative
The Stout Landing Subdivision project is a 64.3 acre single-family residential subdivision
with the associated utilities and infrastructure. It is located along Phillipi Church Road
across from Marigold Lane in Hoke County.
The stormwater generated from the development will be treated through the use of a
wet pond located in the northeast corner of the development. The wet pond is designed
in accordance with the latest NCDEQ MDC manual. Individual lots will be graded such
that the stormwater is transported to inlets located in the subdivision roadways. The
stormwater will be collected via curb inlets in the roadways and subsequently
transported through an underground storm drainage system. The stormwater
generated from the site will collect in the wet pond and provide the required drawdown
time in order to control the 1-year storm. The pond reduces the peak flow from the
development to less than the predevelopment flows for the 1-year and 10-year storm
events. Runoff generated from the 100-year storm event will be fully contained within
the wet pond and as such no emergency spillway has been included in the design.
