20190167 - Buncombe County
Jim and Ken,
On February 6, 2019, the Division of Water Resources (Division) received your application dated February 6, 2019,
requesting a 401 Water Quality Certification from the Division for the above referenced project. The Division has
reviewed the information and has determined the application is incomplete and cannot be processed. The application
will be placed on hold until the following items are addressed:
1. The Division has not received the application fee yet. An email request for payment was sent to
kencurren@gmail.com on February 11, 2019 and March 4, 2019.
2. The Division and the US Army Corps of Engineers (Corps) attended a site visit on March 18, 2019 with
representatives from Cheshire. Based on the site visit, it was determined that the project consists of four
distinct locations on Camp Branch. Please provide an updated impact table with the proposed impact lengths
for each location.
3. Provide a description and typical detail for the proposed stabilization measures for each impact location. Make
sure to include at a minimum the proposed streambank slopes, materials (e.g. coir matting), and vegetation list
(e.g. seed mix and woody plantings). Feel free to reference the "Small -Scale Solutions to Eroding Streambanks"
document provided by the Corps.
4. Provide a plan view of the impact location if the proposed stabilization measure includes any stream relocation
or realignment.
Pursuant to Title 15A NCAC 02H .0502(c), the applicant shall furnish all of the above requested information for the
proper consideration of the application. If all of the requested information is not received within 30 days, the Division
will be unable to approve the application and it will be returned. Contact me anytime if you have questions or
concerns.
