The sample was received In good condition, within temperature and holding time limits. All aliquots were properly preserved. All analyses were completed within holding time and without quality control exception. The five day biochemical oxygen demand (BOD) test was set-up at dilutions as the chemical oxygen demand (COD) test indicated an elevated result was expected. COD is normally a reliable predictor of SOD results. However, the measured 800 result was <59 mg/L, a reporting limit above the normal <2 mg/L limit. The elevated limit Is due to the dilutions prepared per the COD result. G Elevated COD results with low SOD results can indicate the possible presence of a material in the sample toxic to the bacteria used measure the SOD.
