The bridge will have a 4% super elevation with 10' lanes (Description of Minimization of Water and 2'-5" paved shoulders. Clear width of the bridge is 24'-10" and it is 27'-0" out to out.The proposed bridge is on an off-alignment (downstream) of the existing bridge due to Quality Impacts) water main conflicts. Existing drainage patterns have not been altered significantly with the off-alignment due to the majority of wetland and ponded topography surrounding each quadrant. Existing bridge abutments shall remain in place to prevent utility impacts. The drainage system that is being used to pick up the bridge runoff consists of one traffic beating grate inlet that discharges into the wetland in the north-west quadrant. It will discharge on a proposed class-B riprap pad to dissipate energy of the flow coming down the steep slope. Coir fiber matting will be used on the flood bench excavation area under the bridge to minimize erosion and facilitate stabilization as well. 8" x 4" deck drains will be installed to meet the spread criteria on bridge.
