Anneliese,
The DWR concurs with the USACE that the project can continue with the modification
under the GC 4132 which corresponds with the USACE's NW 3 permit. The DWR will
add this information to the file.
Thanks!

AW,
The Corps has reviewed your request and understands the potential safety issue which
would remain with the open tributary section. The Corps further agrees that the new
proposal remains consistent with NW 3. Please accept this exchange of emails as the
necessary authorization to continue work under Nationwide 3.
The action ID for this action is SAW-2016-00050.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to give me a call,

Subject: [Non-DoD Source] W-5601A_Rhodestown Rd_2nd revision to impacts
Brad and Joanne,
The department would like to revise the impacts on the W-5601A Rhodestown Rd Curve
Realignment project. Although this project is nearly complete, a review of this project
brought up a safety concern that had not been previously identified. Since the road has
been relocated for the curve realignment, there is a wide shoulder on the left side of the
project. The road typical section shoulder is disrupted by the open drainage of the
tributary at Site 1 which creates an inconsistent road typical. Therefore, we are
requesting to lengthen the already installed "new" 42" pipe by 24 feet and add a
headwall to create a safer shoulder and consistent clear zone in this area. The attached
photo with the dimensions of the additional length of pipe illustrates the concern. The
78 feet dimension illustrates the approximate amount of open channel which will be
within the project limits.
Adding 24 feet to the inlet of the pipe will result in an additional 96 sq. ft. of permanent
impacts or a total of 753 sq. ft. of permanent surface water impacts. Please see the
attached, revised wetland permit impacts summary table and plan sheets with note.
Please note that an email from me on 12/4/2018 requested to add 8 feet to the "new"
pipe and remove the existing pipe at Site 1. This work has been completed.
Please let me know if this submittal is an acceptable documentation of this change.
Thank you,
Anneliese
