Narrative :
IUP#03-- Spindale Mills
This SIU had one violation for the year of 2018. Violation was for sampling,They where
found in SNC. They are on track now and have made the proper corrections to assure
this does not happen again. This company is cooperative, & works well with the
Pretreatment Program. The company also had one NOV an error on my part was I did not
have them sample again after attending an pretreatment class. I have been informed not to
do this again, and I will make sure this does not happen in the future. A copy of the SNC
violation is attached with the original newspaper article.
IUP#04-- The Timken Company
A Categorical SIU. This SIU had no violations for the year of 2018. They are always
cooperative and continue to work well with the Pretreatment Program.
IUP#08-- Ultimate Textile, Inc.
This SIU had no violations for the year of 2018. They continue to work well with the
Pretreatment Program.
All the 3 SIU permits were renewed this past year. Also there was a name change from
Colormasters to Spindale Mills.
Coming from a Pretreatment system to assuming this role as an ORC/Pretreatment
Manager, there has been a steep learning curve. I would welcome a visit from someone
who can help me set up and manage a good pretreatment program.

Waste Reduction Activities:
The Town of Spindale Participates in the following recycling activities:
Curbside recycling for plastics, office paper, newspaper, glass, aluminum, used clothers, etc., from
households,businesses, and local Industries.
Land Application/Residuals (Bio-solids)Program; (PLA) land applies Class-B Bio-solids to
local farmers pasture land: approximately( 163.6 ) acres.
Implemented a MMP,The plan call for recycling of all mercury containing devices such as but
not limited to light bulbs,thermostats, thermometers,batteries, added a MMP to the SIU's
permits.
Some of our SIU's perform waste reduction practices.
