Angela,
I talked to Sam and looked at my notes from last year and will accept TIC and TIB as being intermittent streams without
having to perform a site visit. I will issue a viability letter for those two streams using the attached map. I have some
other letters in the Queue, so it may take a couple of weeks to get it to you.
Thanks,
Katie

Hi Katie,
Sorry for the lapse in time from my initial email. We just did the PJD walk with Sam from the Corps and finalized our
stream calls at Sassarixa Swamp. I've attached a map for you. The additional stream calls on site are TIB and TIC. TIB
was identified as a potential jurisdictional feature during the IRT walk that we went back and ran forms on. TIC was
found during our extensive site visits post -IRT walk.
If you would like to schedule a site walk to confirm these features as well please let me know. I am happy to also
forward stream forms or any other information you'd need to see on these streams for a buffer viability letter. Most of
TIC is in the Sassarixa Creek buffer, but the very upstream limit would have a small buffer (as you can see on the
easement outline.
I also wanted to verify something for the Sassarixa Creek buffers. Sassarixa Creek is an anabranching channel. There is a
mainstem and a few smaller side channels throughout the floodplain. One is shown on the attached map. Am I correct in
1
assuming that the side channels will need to be removed from our square footage buffer calculations? This is the first
time we've encountered such channels in a buffer project.
Thanks,
Angela
