Do not click links or open attachments unless you verify. Send all suspicious email as an attachment to nc. ov Alan, The culverts for the Diane Street project cannot be shortened due to existing topography, access requirements, and the need to provide for protection of the proposed sewer pipe from being exposed by future down -cutting of the stream. Existing topography and access requirements result in the width of the access road and fill slopes being 30 feet. The access road needs to be open to maintenance and repair vehicles at all times. Therefore, the access road is sited adjacent to the sewer pipe, with the toe of the fill slope being approximately 6 to 8 feet off the pipe centerline. The offset is needed to allow for future maintenance work or emergency repairs that may be needed on the sewer line. The culverts are proposed to be extended just beyond the sewer pipe in order to provide protection against the pipe being exposed in the future due to down -cutting of the stream if left as a daylighted channel at the sewer crossing. Extending the pipe from the upstream toe of fill slope to just downstream of the sewer alignment results in a 40 -foot long culvert. The pipes will be installed in a mickey mouse concept with the vertical offsets you describe below. Please let me know if you have any additional or follow-up questions or would like to discuss the culverts further. Thanks, and have a great day! Given that this is a sewer line, wouldn't a shorter culvert suffice? 20 or 25 ft culvert? I assume the pipes are installed in a mickey mouse concept, with a base flow culvert and the additional culverts perched for storm flow?
