The stormwater basins were under construction during 2015 and did not discharge in the first half of the year. Construction of Basins 2, 3, 4, and 6 was completed in the second half of 2015 and Basin 1 was completed in early 2016. Due to the timing of the construction of the site and the stormwater basins, the seeding and subsequent growth of the grass was sporadic; therefore, did not provide an effective measure for filtering the stormwater. Thus, we exceeded the TSS and Turbidity limits. This exceedance put the site into Tier One Response for Turbidity and Tier One for benchmarks except turbidity. Our response is as follows: 1. Within one week of receipt of the results, we conducted a stormwater management inspection to identify causes and potential action items to improve our discharge. 2. The identified action items include: i. Sample each basin to determine which flocculent to use at each basin. ii. Establish the use of a floc block (or similar) in the swales leading to each basin. iii. Establish vegetative cover as soon as seasonally possible. 3. Establish monthly sampling of stormwater discharge. 4. Record this exceedance in our SWPPP. 5. Record our response in the SWPPP. Action items i and ii have been put in place. We are preparing to vegetate the site as soon as seasonally possible. Please contact me with any questions you may have regarding this information. Page 15 of 19 aceAnalytical www.pacelabs.com I QUALIFIERS Project: NPDES Basin Monitoring 12/28 Pace Project No.: 92281239 DEFINITIONS DF - Dilution Factor, if reported, represents the factor applied to the reported data due to dilution of the sample aliquot. ND - Not Detected at or above adjusted reporting limit. J - Estimated concentration above the adjusted method detection limit and below the adjusted reporting limit. MDL -Adjusted Method Detection Limit. PQL - Practical Quantitation Limit. RL - Reporting Limit. Pace Analytical Services, Inc. 2225 Riverside Dr. Asheville, NC 28804 (828)254-7176 S - Surrogate 1,2-Diphenylhydrazine decomposes to and cannot be separated from Azobenzene using Method 8270. The result for each analyte is a combined concentration. Consistent with EPA guidelines, unrounded data are displayed and have been used to calculate % recovery and RPD values. LCS(D) - Laboratory Control Sample (Duplicate) MS(D) - Matrix Spike (Duplicate) DUP - Sample Duplicate RPD - Relative Percent Difference NC - Not Calculable. SG - Silica Gel - Clean -Up U - Indicates the compound was analyzed for, but not detected. Acid preservation may not be appropriate for 2 Chloroethylvinyl ether, Styrene, and Vinyl chloride. A separate vial preserved to a pH of 4-5 is recommended in SW846 Chapter 4 for the analysis of Acrolein and Acrylonitrile by EPA Method 8260. N-Nitrosodiphenylamine decomposes and cannot be separated from Diphenylamine using Method 8270. The result reported for each analyte is a combined concentration. Pace Analytical is TNI accredited.
