Pursuant to that conversation, Stanly County will proceed with the following plan of action to address the noted violation items noted from the inspection: 01 Q Potassium Permanganate chemical feed that was installed at the McCoy PS has been dismantled and removed. It was determined that the chemical injection needed to be further upstream in order to have any effect on odor control. All chemicals have been disposed of and equipment removed. Chlorine contact chamber was noted to have floating debris and grease build up on walls. The contact chamber was cleaned and all floating solids removed 2/6/2019. The Secondary Clarifier has not been working for some time from what I being told. Our plans are to proceed to construction with a new larger clarifier and permanently remove this the two non -working clarifiers. Head -works mechanical bar -screen at McCoy PS has been repaired and put back online on 2/13/2019 and is operating normally. Utilities Department 1000 N. Stanly County Operational Staff has been deployed with vacuum trailer to remove grease build up and clean out the influent channels. An electrician has been contacted to get a fan switch installed at the top of the stairs to remove any danger of Hydrogen Sulfide gas at head -works pump station. Shrubbery along the head -works fence line has been cut back as requested by NCDEQ inspector. Additional warning signage has been put up at the pump station. Additional warning and hazard signs will be installed on all sides of the fence along with emergency contact phone numbers. This will be done at the W WTP also. 6 Cleanup and Maintenance at W WTP is underway to remove any vector attraction. A loader provided by the Collection maintenance dept. will be used to remove all full trash cans and any solids that are lying one the ground.
