Compliance Evaluation Inspection —Notice of Violation
Permit No. NCO028941
Dear Mr. Basinger:
WQROS
MOORESVILLE REGIRNAL OFFICE
www.aquanort carolina.com
Aqua North Carolina, Inc. (Aqua) offers the following response to the above -referenced Compliance
Evaluation Inspection — Notice of Deficiency, which was issued for the inspection conducted on January
15, 2019.
At the time of the facility inspection a deficiency was noted that no notable water is
available:
During this and the previous inspection it was noted that no potable water was
available for plant washdown and maintenance. Per the inspector the absence of
potable water violates the permit condition Part II, Section C of "Proper
Operation and Maintenance, the permittee shall at all times properly operate and
maintain systems of treatment and control ... proper operations include washdown
of treatment equipment."
Agua's Response: Pine Valley WWTP was constructed in accordance with State
standards. When the plant was built, and the permit issued, it was done so with the
knowledge that there is no potable water source available to the WWTP. Aqua has a
jetter with a self-contained water supply that can be taken to the plant if necessary. The
plant continues to be well operated and in compliance as stated in both this and all
subsequent inspections. Therefore, Aqua is meeting the permit conditions.
