Corey Basinger Regional Supervisor Water Quality Regional Operations Section Division of Water Resources 610 East Center Avenue, suite 301 Mooresville, NC 28115 Ref: Hemby Acres —WQCS00233 Incident 201801762 Sanitary Sewer Overflow —September 16, 2018 Dear Mr. Basinger, I am writing to provide additional information regarding the above noted sanitary sewer overflow that took place on 9/16/2018. The area received 11" -12" rain in approximately two-day time frame due to Hurricane Florence. The entire area was underwater and there was not much we could do until it was safe, and the waters receded. I have enclosed a picture of the area for your review. The area was monitored during this event but as already stated the entire area was flooded including the roadways. After approximately 19 hours the waters started to recede, and the overflow was stopped on 9/17/2018 at approximately 8:31 am. The amount of overflow was a visual estimation of 950 gallons. The S5O was reported to Division of Emergency Management on 9/16/2017 as required. There were no known fish kills or other known impact to the tributary. This event was caused by a severe natural condition that was outside of our control. The staff of CWSNC takes pride in the compliance and environmental stewardship of our facility. Please accept this letter as demonstration that the actions taken were prompt and complete and that the SSO was unintentional. • 4944 Parkway Plaza Blvd. Ste 375 • Charlotte, North Carolina 28217 • 800-525-7990 Should you have any further questions or if I can be of any further assistance please do not hesitate to contact me at 704-319-0523.
