The plant has a mechanical bar screen at the former plant site with 3 pumps that pump sewer to the current plant, which also has another step bar screen. The plant has two aeration basins,two clarifiers,two digesters, one sludge holding basin, chlorination with liquid bleach and de-chlorination along with three pumps that pump effluent to the river. Both locations have back-up generators. The facility is located at 129 Woodrow Rd., Orrum,North Carolina. Description of Collection System: The Collection System consists of approximately 19 miles of gravity sewer, 2 miles of pressure sewer and 13 miles of force main with 5 duplex stations. We have generator back- up for all lift stations and all stations have telephone alarm dialers plus lights and horns for power outages and other emergencies. II. Performance Text Summary of System Performance for Calendar Year 2018: Performance flow was not over the plant's design limit of 1.750 MG/D for the year of 2017. List(by month) any violations of permit conditions or other environmental regulations. Monthly lists should include discussion of any environmental impacts and corrective measures taken to address violations. Two manholes ran over due to the heavy rainfall. The WWTP also ran over when the plant's generator broke down. It was repaired as quickly as possible when the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers flew in people with parts to get the generator back up and running. III. Notification State how this report has been made available to users or customers of the system and how those users have been notified of its availability. Public notice summarizing this report was placed in the local paper, "The Robeson Journal." Citizens were also informed that a copy of the performance report was available at Town Hall,421 South Main Street, Fairmont,NC. A copy of this report was posted on the town's website www.fairmontnc.com. IV. Certification I certify under penalty of law this report is complete and accurate to the best of my knowledge. Public Notice The North Carolina Clean Water Act of 1999 requires that each owner or operator of any wastewater plant or collection system provide an annual performance report to its users and customers. The Town of Fairmont owns its wastewater collections system and the wastewater facility located at 129 Woodrow Rd in Orrum, North Carolina. A copy of the Town's 2018 performance report can be obtained at the Fairmont Town Hall on 421 South Main Street or you can call and request one at 628-9766.
