Notes, Sketch, etc.:
Started at JH5- proposed as E2 on a ditch with flowing water. Likely did have stream characteristics however, IRT folks
did not like just planting for stream credit, that is more of a buffer site, which it could be (there is alot of rip buffer credit
proposed for this project). Also, they mentioned the 1,000 foot bank add on, proposing stream restoration. Two issues
here, 1) site is too small, 2) whether you do priority 1 or 2 type work. Group definitely preferred P1 work, however, this
section is still too small. Also, P1 would cause hydrologic trespass issues RES would have to work out. Bottom line,
recommended approach is buffer only.
Then went to JH1-A- another proposed E2 reach although drainage is larger. As proposed would recommend the rip
buffer approach, however, if they get another landowner, its possible to consider restoration approach. Still have to
bring it down to culvert at road.
JH1-B- proposed as R. Probably a combo P1/2. I amok with this approarch, Travis expressed some trepidation with
amount of functional uplift (some of the stream was not incised and did not show evidence of getting out of bank). I
believe moving the stream over and giving it more floodplain access and likely restoring some wetland sin the process
is worthwhile.
