General Project Narrative: 17BP.10.R.107 is a bridge replacement project that involves removing Union County Bridge #159, on SR 2169 (Prospect Rd.) over Polecat Creek, and replacing with a 1@70'
(Description of Minimization of Water 24" cored slab bridge with 4'-0" end bent caps. The existing bridge is 1@30.5' Timber deck on steel I-beam with vertical timber abutments. No deck drains will be used on this
Quality Impacts) structure, reducing stream pollution associated with roadway runoff. Additional measures implemented to reduce impacts to the stream and surrounding properties include,
maintaining existing drainge patterns, using special lateral 'V' ditches, and using 3:1 fill slopes and discharging stormwater runoff as far away from the stream as is practicable.
Further, rip rap is used at drainage outlets to dissipate energy and reduce erosion.
