Brice Signature Date 2/18/2019 ATTACHMENT City of Raleigh Public Utilities Sewer Maintenance staff discovered an area of streambank failure near 722 Carolina Avenue (Lat. 35.7824, Long. -78.7176) along Simmons Branch. Approximately 20 linear feet of streambank will be stabilized. The work area is within a sanitary sewer easement that has not been fully -maintained within the past 10 years. As a result, 5 large trees will be removed from approximately 74 square feet of Zone 1 buffer in order to access the aerial sanitary sewer pipe. The following activities are proposed at this location: • Erosion control measures and a dry work area will be established prior to work beginning • 5 large trees will be removed • A temporary stream crossing will be constructed to access far streambank • 20 linear feet of the far bank will be stabilized with rock/geotextile • All disturbed areas will be seeded and mulched upon completion of the work. In addition to the 20 linear foot stream impact, approximately 340 square feet of Zone 1 buffer and 214 square feet of Zone 2 buffer will be impacted. All impacts are temporary except for the 74 square feet area where the trees are to be removed. 1.
