Pump stations
Description:
Wastewater collection and treatment facilities require highly-skilled staff to
operate and maintain them effectively and efficiently. Wastewater collection
personnel are certified through the Water Pollution Control Systems Operators
Certification Commission and are governed by N.C. State Law and regulations
administered through NCDENR.
Davie County operates a collection system that includes12 pump stations: 12.1
miles of force main; 19.80 miles of gravity sewer 1.69 miles of 10" gravity sewer
and 0.63 miles of 18" inch gravity sewer. Pumping an average daily flow of
2759000 gpd (Gallons Per day) through Yadkin River pump station to Forsyth
County Utilities.
Performance:
Davie County over flows caused by blockages from either grease or debris in the
sewer lines. Davie County has started design to remove one pump station in
Eastern Dave County better known as Jeffco pump station. This project will start in

2019. In March 2019 Davie County Public Utilities will start construction of two
new sewer pump stations that will remove flow from the Forsyth County Tangle
Wood pump station. This project will add 30,000 feet of sewer mains to Forsyth
and Davie County taking waste water to the Muddy Creek interceptor. This project
received $29000,000.00 in EDA funding and will be financed through State
Revolving Fund loans. The project is anticipated to be completed in 2020.

Each customer will receive a notice on the bi-monthly water bills notifying
customers the report will be available online at;

located at 298 E Depot Street Mocksville NC. 27028. Davie County operates a
government access channels on TWC channel 6 and Yadkin Valley Telecom
channel 25. This also provides great information that runs on a loop for FOG (Fats
Oils and Grease).
