Aqua North Carolina, Inc. (Aqua) offers the following response to the above -referenced Notice of Violation
which was issued for fecal coliform violations in October 2018.
AQua's Response: The ORC found that there was a partial blockage inside the UV modules inlet
transition box at the UV lamp support arm which caused an excessive amount of turbulence stirring up
sediment in the channel. This reduced the UV lamp effectiveness. The ORC thoroughly cleaned the
UV module channel and transition boxes and cleaned the UV lamp sleeves and sensor. The ORC has
begun inspecting and cleaning the transition boxes and channels weekly and continues to inspect and
clean both UV sensor and UV lamp sleeves weekly.
