Describe the treatment process(es) for the raw water: The raw water is withdrawn from Sandy Creek into the flash mixer where the ferric, sodium hydroxide is added. On an as needed basis, carbon and polymer are introduced at the flocculator prior to the sedimentation basin. Prior to filtration the water is chlorinated. After filtration, chlorine, caustic, and a corrosion inhibitor is added to the water. The treated water is stored in a 0.5 MG clearwell. 8. Describe the wastewater and the treatment process(es) for wastewater generated by the facility: Water goes to the clarifier where solids settle out and the supernate gravity flows to the discharge point to the receiving stream.
