All,
I completed a compliance inspection on the above referenced site in Stokesdale on 1/17/2019, specific to the
Nationwide Permit 29 the Corps of Engineers verified for use on 7/13/2018. To this date site work in Corps jurisdiction is
limited to clearing and installation of sediment and erosion control measures. Although the majority of the site looks
fine, I was concerned about a silt fence on the downstream side of the 1,484 sq. ft. permitted wetland disturbance. The
silt fence is in need of maintenance, and has allowed visible sandy sediment to flow and deposit into wetlands that have
not been permitted for impact (see attached).
Please ensure that your sediment and erosion control measures are maintained, and that any sediment that breaches
these measures within wetlands and other waters are reclaimed and deposited in non-jurisdictional areas. If you have
any questions pertaining to the Corps permit as construction proceeds please let me know.
Thank you for your attention to these matters.
Sincerely,
Dave Bailey
