Specifically describe measures taken to avoid or minimize the proposed impacts in designing the project: Steps were taken to avoid and minimize stream and wetland impacts during the final design of Stage 1 B-Phase II. The original interchange concept included ramps in all four quadrants of the Morrisville Parkway interchange with NC 540. The final design includes ramps and loops in the northwest and southeast quadrants of the interchange. This design eliminates impacts to WC-6 and SC-8 in the southwest quadrant of the interchange without adding any new or additional impacts. In addition, careful design of proposed grades and the use of 2:1 fill slopes minimized impacts at the remaining sites. 1b. Specificallydescribe measures taken to avoid or minimize the proposed impacts through construction techniques: The Contractor will be instructed to followthe erosion and sediment control plans, induding routine maintenance to devices. Specific attention will be paid to work in the streams and wetlands as well as the management of base flows. 2. Compensatory Mitigation for Impacts to Waters of the U.S. or Waters of the State 2a.
