General permit information:
All SIU permits are current. An application was submitted by Johnson Controls, formerly
Air System Components. Their current permit expires June 24, 2018.
SIU Information:
Air System Components (IUP #TOT-006)
ASC has been bought out by Johnson Controls, and there will be a name change to Johnson
Controls. They had a NOVs issued for TSS in November and December.
Glenoit Mills (IUP #TOT-002)
This industry had an 80% decrease in production rate and number of employees dropped from
85 to 13. They had an NOV issued for pH in January.
Mayo Knitting Mills (IUP #TOT-003)
Mayo Knitting Mills continues to be conscientious about complying with their permit limits.
The Hillshire Brands Company (IUP #TOT-0010)
At the present time, they have no back-up power at their waste water plant. Their plan is to
have a contract for back-up power to be provided in case of emergency. This has yet to happen.
I am still waiting on an adjusted spill plan explaining how they will handle a loss of power. I have
urged them to have a permanent generator on site, but the corporate office in Arkansas chose
to go this route. The plant is expected to be sold in the near future.
